Try this first

  • Pull to refresh or reopen the app if shared transactions look stale
  • Check that both devices are online and signed into the expected iCloud account
  • Confirm household sharing is still active on both devices before retrying sync

Frequently asked questions

How does household sharing work?

PennyPal is built for couples. Shared household expenses can be reviewed together while personal spending stays clearly separate, so both people can see the same bigger picture.

What can I import into PennyPal?

PennyPal supports statement-based transaction imports for supported bank files, turning those imports into organised transactions, dashboards and insights.

Why do some expenses appear as personal and others as household?

The app is designed to preserve clarity. Transactions can be grouped by ownership so you can tell what belongs to one person and what belongs to the household at a glance.

What should I do if sync looks out of date?

Make sure both devices are online, then use the in-app sync actions if available. If the problem continues, email support with a short description of what you expected to see.

How can I get direct help?

Email contactus@pennypal.uk and include the following:

  • Your device model and iOS version
  • What you were trying to do
  • Whether the issue relates to imports, sharing or sync
  • Any screenshot or error message that clarifies the issue
